The aim was to help dermatologists improve their diagnosis of skin diseases by using high-quality imaging technology and advanced analysis tools.
The solution, called Demetra, allows dermatologists to take high-quality images and store them securely in the cloud, allowing them to track disease progress over a longer period of time. In addition, a machine learning model was developed to support the diagnosis of these images.
Cloud based, serverless architecture
To comply with strict HIPAA regulations, especially given its US application, Barco opted for a cloud-based, serverless architecture.
