Nessk, operating under the brand name Hairsup, is a company focused on selling hair products through both their Shopify webshop and marketplaces such as Bol.com and Amazon. To optimise and scale their operational processes, Nessk decided to invest in an integrated solution for their product information and marketplace management. For this, the company chose Product Flow, a system that functions as both a marketplace integrator and a product information management (PIM) system.
The project was carried out in collaboration with competence centre eWings, focusing on linking their various sales channels, optimising logistics processes and improving their pricing strategies.
To address these challenges, they chose to implement Product Flow. This platform acts as both a PIM system and a marketplace integrator, which ensures full integration of product information, inventory management and order processing. The solution was rolled out in several phases:
Product Flow was implemented as the central hub for product management. All product information was managed from this system and automatically synchronised with both the Shopify webshop and two Bol.com accounts. This allowed Nessk to manage all products consistently and easily create and publish new products on multiple platforms simultaneously. This approach reduced complexity and accelerated time-to-market.
One of the key features of Product Flow was the real-time synchronisation of stock between Shopify, Bol.com and Amazon. This allowed Nessk to accurately track their inventory and drastically reduce the risk of stock shortages and order delays. In addition, order processing was centralised: orders from Bol.com and Shopify were all managed through Product Flow, leading to a more efficient processing process and better integration with carriers.
Nessk initially had one Bol.com account for both the Dutch and Belgian markets, which led to longer delivery times for Dutch customers. By splitting the Bol.com accounts into Dutch and Belgian, Nessk was able to optimise their delivery times. This enabled the company to offer faster delivery times for Dutch customers and implement better pricing strategies.
To improve their position on Bol.com, Product Flow’s repricer was configured. This tool dynamically adjusts product prices to ensure Nessk wins the buying block as often as possible, which is crucial for achieving sales through Bol.com. The repricer takes minimum and maximum prices into account so that Nessk remains competitive without losing their profitability. Volume discounts are also applied to further boost sales.
Results
The implementation of Product Flow delivered significant improvements for Nessk:
- Efficient product management: Product information was centralised and synchronised across all sales channels, leading to faster introduction of new products and consistency in product data.
- Improved synchronisation and order processing: Real-time synchronisation of stocks and orders allowed Nessk to work more efficiently and minimise the risk of stock shortages and missed orders. The centralisation of orders also improved cooperation with carriers and ensured faster order processing.
- Optimised logistics and pricing strategy: By dividing Bol.com accounts, Nessk was able to improve their delivery times for Dutch customers and apply different pricing strategies for the Dutch and Belgian markets. This led to a better competitive position and more satisfied customers.
- Increased competitiveness: With the implementation of the repricer, Nessk was able to remain competitive on Bol.com by winning the buying block more often, leading to higher conversion rates and more sales.
